Your Farmers Agent for Oak Point

Oak Point sits on the east side of Lewisville Lake, and our Denton office is about a 20 minute drive west on US-380. You don’t have to make the trip to work with us. Most quotes and policy changes happen by phone or email, and you’re always welcome to stop by.

Homes near the lake, bigger lots, and weekend toys like boats and trailers all bring their own coverage questions. We’ll go through what you own and make sure each piece is covered the way you expect.

  • Lake-Area Homes

Homes near the lake often have detached garages, workshops, and outdoor living spaces. We’ll check how your policy covers other structures and whether your limits keep up.

  • Boats and Trailers

A homeowners policy usually offers very little coverage for a boat. Ask us about separate watercraft coverage and how liability works when you’re out on the water.

  • Flood Is Separate

Standard homeowners policies don’t cover flood. If your home sits near the water or in a low spot, ask us about a separate flood policy. Most have a waiting period, so plan ahead.

  • Keeping Limits Current

Plenty of Oak Point homeowners haven’t looked at their dwelling limit since they bought. If rebuild costs have gone up, your coverage should too. We’ll review it with you.

Talk to the office(940) 281-2069
Do you serve Oak Point even though your office is in Denton?

Yes. Our office is at 2220 San Jacinto Blvd in Denton, about a 20 minute drive west on US-380. Most Oak Point clients handle everything by phone and email, but you can stop by any time. Call ahead at (940) 281-2069 and we’ll be ready for you.

Does my homeowners policy cover flooding from Lewisville Lake?

No. Standard homeowners policies exclude flood, including rising water from a lake or creek. Flood coverage is a separate policy, and it usually has a 30 day waiting period before it takes effect, so it’s worth setting up before you need it. Ask us whether it makes sense for your address.

Is my boat covered under my homeowners policy?

Usually only in a limited way, if at all. Many homeowners policies cap coverage for small boats and exclude liability for larger ones. A separate watercraft policy can cover the boat, the trailer, and your liability on the water. Ask us what fits your boat.

How often should I review my home coverage?

At least once a year, and any time you remodel, add a structure, or make a big purchase. Rebuild costs can change a lot over a few years, so a limit that fit when you bought may be low today.

What does an umbrella policy add?

An umbrella policy adds liability coverage on top of your home and auto policies. If someone is badly hurt at your home or in an accident you cause, it can help pay costs above your other limits. It’s worth a look if you have a pool, a boat, or teen drivers.
