Coverage options
What a bike, boat, or RV policy can include
Tap any coverage to see what it does and when it matters.
Liability
Injuries and damage you cause to others while riding, boating, or driving.
Liability pays for other people’s injuries and property damage when you cause an accident, and helps with legal costs if you’re sued. Texas applies the same 30/60/25 minimums to motorcycles and motorhomes as it does to cars. A crash on a bike can mean serious injuries, so many riders choose higher limits. Boat liability covers injuries and damage you cause on the water, like striking another boat, a dock, or a swimmer. Texas doesn’t require it, but a lender or marina may.
- $30K
- Injury, per person
- $60K
- Injury, per accident
- $25K
- Property damage
Good to know: Towable trailers usually get liability through the vehicle that’s towing them, but the trailer itself needs its own physical damage coverage.
Collision
Repairs or replaces your bike, boat, or RV after an accident, no matter who is at fault.
Collision pays to repair or replace your motorcycle, boat, or RV after a crash with another vehicle or an object, like a guardrail, a low branch at a campground, or a submerged stump at the lake, regardless of fault. You pick a deductible, and a higher one lowers your premium.
Good to know: If your bike, boat, or RV is financed, your lender will usually require collision and comprehensive.
Comprehensive
Theft, hail, fire, flooding, and animal strikes.
Comprehensive covers damage that doesn’t come from a crash: theft, hail, wind, fire, flooding, vandalism, and hitting a deer. Motorcycles are easier to steal than cars, a boat on a trailer in the driveway is an easy target, and an RV parked outside through a North Texas spring is exposed to every hailstorm that comes through.
Good to know: If you store your RV, boat, or bike off-season, ask whether you can keep comprehensive while scaling back other coverage.
Uninsured Motorist
Protects you when the other driver has too little insurance or none at all.
Uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage helps pay for your injuries and damage when the driver who hit you has no insurance, or not enough. For riders, who don’t have a car’s frame around them, injuries from someone else’s mistake can be expensive.
Good to know: Texas insurers must offer this coverage, and you have to decline it in writing if you don’t want it.
Custom Parts & Equipment
Aftermarket parts and add-ons that did not come from the factory.
Custom parts and equipment coverage helps pay to replace things you added after purchase: custom paint, chrome, exhaust, saddlebags, a new seat, or upgraded audio. A standard policy may only include a small amount of coverage for add-ons.
Good to know: Keep receipts or photos of what you’ve added. It makes a claim much easier.
Personal Belongings
The gear, clothes, and electronics you keep in your RV.
Personal belongings coverage helps pay for items inside your RV, like bedding, cookware, electronics, and camping gear, if they are stolen or damaged in a covered loss. The amount of coverage for contents varies, so it’s worth a look if you travel with a lot of gear.
Good to know: If you live in your RV full time, tell us. Full-time RVers often need coverage that works more like a homeowners policy.
Campsite Liability
Liability for injuries at your site while your RV is parked.
When your RV is parked and set up at a campsite, some policies include liability coverage for injuries that happen around it, like a guest tripping over a leveling block or getting hurt on your steps. It works a bit like the liability on a homeowners policy.
Good to know: Availability and limits vary by policy. Ask us whether yours includes it before your next trip.
Trailer, Gear & On-Water Help
Your boat trailer, fishing gear, and help when you break down on the lake.
Boat policies can include coverage for the trailer you haul it on, fishing equipment and personal items you keep aboard, and on-water towing if you run out of fuel or break down away from the ramp. Some also cover liability for fuel spill cleanup. The same kinds of coverage are available for personal watercraft like jet skis.
Good to know: Boats are rated on things like length, engine horsepower, and top speed. Have those handy, along with where you keep the boat, when you call for a quote.
Roadside & Towing
Towing, jump starts, flat tires, and lockouts when you break down.
Roadside coverage handles towing, jump starts, flat tires, fuel delivery, and lockouts. Towing a large motorhome takes heavier equipment than towing a car, so roadside coverage built for RVs can save a lot of money on a single call.
Good to know: Check whether your RV, boat, or bike already has roadside or on-water towing help through the manufacturer or a club so you don’t pay twice.
Coverage availability and limits vary by policy and by vehicle or boat type. We’ll walk you through each option before you decide.

Incredible service. Saved me a ton of money and it was a hands free process. Provided them with my current insurance (home/auto), they matched the coverage and it came in significantly less expensive. A simple phone call and a few emails to complete enrollment. Awesome!

Motorcycle, boat, & RV insurance FAQs
Straight answers about bike, boat, and RV coverage
Don’t see your question here? Give the office a call and we’ll help you sort it out.
Talk to the office(940) 281-2069Is motorcycle insurance required in Texas?
Yes. Motorcycles registered in Texas need the same minimum liability as cars: $30,000 per injured person, $60,000 per accident, and $25,000 for property damage. Many riders carry more, because injuries in a motorcycle accident can be serious.
Does my auto policy cover my travel trailer?
Your auto policy’s liability generally extends to a trailer while you’re towing it, but it usually doesn’t pay for damage to the trailer itself or the things inside it. For that, the trailer needs its own coverage.
Does RV insurance cover hail damage?
Hail is covered under comprehensive. If your RV is parked outside during North Texas storm season, comprehensive is worth having even if you don’t take it out often.
Can I bundle my motorcycle, boat, or RV with my auto insurance?
Often, yes. Keeping your bike, boat, or RV with the same office as your car can simplify billing and may qualify for a multi-policy discount. We will check what applies to you.
Are my custom parts covered?
A standard policy may include only a limited amount for aftermarket parts and add-ons. If you have custom paint, chrome, exhaust, or other upgrades, ask about custom parts and equipment coverage so they are protected at their real value.
Is boat insurance required in Texas?
Texas does not require boat insurance by state law. Many lenders and marinas do, though, and without it you would pay out of pocket for damage to your boat or for an accident you cause on the water.
