Coverage options
The kinds of life insurance we can help with
Tap any option to see how it works and who it tends to fit.
Term Life
Coverage for a set number of years, usually at the lowest cost per dollar of coverage.
Term life pays a death benefit if you pass away during the term you pick. It’s built for the years when people depend on your income most: while kids are at home and the mortgage is still being paid down. If the term ends and you’re still here, the coverage ends too, and you don’t get the premiums back.

Good to know: Many families line the term up with the years left on their mortgage or until the youngest child is grown. Available term lengths vary by policy.
Whole Life
Permanent coverage with a fixed premium and cash value that builds over time.
Whole life is designed to last your whole life as long as premiums are paid. The premium is generally set when you buy it and doesn’t go up. Part of what you pay builds cash value, which grows over time and can be borrowed against. It costs more than term for the same death benefit, so it tends to fit people who want coverage that never expires.
Good to know: Loans against cash value reduce the death benefit if they are not paid back. Ask us how that works on a specific policy.
Universal Life
Permanent coverage with more room to adjust premiums and the death benefit.
Universal life is permanent coverage with some flexibility. Within limits, you may be able to change how much you pay and when, or adjust the death benefit as life changes. The cash value side depends on the policy type, so the details matter more here than with term or whole life.
Good to know: Flexibility cuts both ways. Paying too little for too long can cause a policy to lapse, so we’ll show you what it takes to keep it in force.
Final Expense
A smaller permanent policy meant to cover funeral costs and final bills.
Final expense coverage is a smaller whole life policy, usually aimed at people later in life who want to cover a funeral, medical bills, or other costs so their family doesn’t have to. Applications are often simpler than for a larger policy.
Good to know: Some final expense policies limit the payout in the first couple of years. We will point out any waiting period before you apply.
Optional Riders
Extras you can add to a policy for situations the base coverage leaves out.
Riders are add-ons that change what a policy does. Common examples include coverage for your children on the same policy, waiving premiums if you become disabled, an accidental death benefit, and access to part of the death benefit early if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness.
Good to know: Rider availability and cost vary by policy and by carrier. Ask which ones are worth it for your situation and which ones you can skip.
Beneficiaries
The people or trust who receive the money, and the part many forget to update.
Your beneficiary designation decides who gets the death benefit, and it generally overrides what a will says. Naming a primary and a contingent beneficiary keeps things clear. If you have minor children, talk with an attorney about a trust or custodian, since insurers usually can’t pay a large sum directly to a child.
Good to know: Review beneficiaries after a marriage, divorce, or new baby. It’s a quick form, and we can help you update it.
Coverage availability, terms, and underwriting vary by policy. We’ll walk you through each option before you decide.

Start My Life QuoteNew & Growing Families
A new baby is the most common reason people call us about life insurance. We’ll help you pick an amount that would cover the years ahead.
Homeowners
If your income pays the mortgage, a policy can keep your family in the house. Many people match their coverage to the loan balance and term.
Business Owners
If partners or family rely on your business, life insurance can help cover debts and keep things running while decisions get made.
Planning Ahead
Later in life, a smaller permanent policy can cover final expenses so your kids are not left sorting out the bills.

Talk to the office(940) 281-2069How much life insurance do I need?
It depends on what you want the money to cover. A common starting point is to add up your mortgage and other debts, the income your family would need for a number of years, and future costs like college. We’ll help you work through the math before you pick a number.
What is the difference between term and whole life insurance?
Term life covers you for a set number of years and usually costs the least. Whole life lasts your whole life, keeps a level premium, and builds cash value, so it costs more for the same death benefit. Many families start with term and add permanent coverage later if it makes sense.
Is the life insurance through my job enough?
Often it isn’t. Group life through an employer is commonly a set amount or a multiple of your salary, and it may not follow you if you change jobs. A personal policy stays with you no matter where you work.
Do I need a medical exam to get life insurance?
Not always. Some policies ask health questions and may request a short exam, while smaller policies can sometimes be issued with a simpler application. It depends on the policy, the amount, and your age and health.
Is it better to buy life insurance when I am younger?
Premiums are generally lower when you are younger and healthier, and they are usually based on your age and health at the time you apply. Buying earlier can lock in a lower rate for the length of the term.
